Mini-Concert

Less is more - the quartet kicked off the jazz portion of the Athenaeum's mini-concert series this past Monday. We played to a semi-packed house (not bad for a 12 noon show) at the Lyceum theater downtown.

You probably haven't realized, but this gentleman (and fan) is the future of jazz as we know it. I think his regular space-helmet was in the shop for repairs.

Nickname Available

The music world lost two more saxophone greats in January: Hank Crawford and David 'Fathead' Newman. Both alumni of the Ray Charles band, Fathead and Hank passed within ten days of each other, on the 20th and 29th respectively.

So, it's been brought to my attention that there is a nickname available. And it has also been brought to my attention (on multiple occasions) that I have an abnormally large head. I invite you to check the photos below, and if it's anatomically correct, put in your vote for me as Fathead's heir. . .
